Inspired by the same musical influences, school mates Estelle Ratcliff, Kate Joseph, Alex Tompkins & Sam Rhone launched their rock band, Fixation, in mid-2003. Their first on-stage appearance took place in the local Hotshots band competition, where they gained in confidence from winning their heat. With a half-hour set of original compositions in their repertoire and a passion to participate in Sydney's live scene, they went on to play at gigs such as The Annandale Hotel, The Hopetoun Hotel and The Empire Hotel. After taking second place in the Preshocked band competition, Fixation felt privileged to play at Shoreshocked festival alongside big name acts Cog, Resin Dogs and In the Grey. Since then they've enjoyed sharing the stage with: Unpaid Debt; The Camels; The Spazzys; MM9; Escape Route; Knucklepuk; Nunchukka Superfly; Outlier; Staying at Home; Modular Lounge and Self.

This hard working, ambitious band continues to add to its rapidly growing collection of original music with a raw, unique sound that blends rock, pop and grunge, with melodies that linger in the head long after the band has departed the stage.
